Life's priorities

Professor of Philosophy comes into the audience and lay out on the table a few different things.
When lectures begin, he silently takes a large, empty jar and fills it with large stones.
Then asks:
- Was this jar full?
- Yes! - Agree to the students.
Then the professor picked up a box with small pebbles and poured it into the same jar. He chatted the little jar. Pebbles, of course, filled the open areas between the stones.
He again asked the students:
- Was this jar full?
They laughed and agreed that the jar was full.
Then, the professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand fills the remaining space.
Once again, the professor asked the students if the jar was full? Answer: Yes, and this time unequivocally, it was full.
Then from under the table he had pulled out two cans of beer and poured them into the jar. The students laughed.
- Now, - the professor said, - I want you to understand it is your life. Stones is an important things - your family, your friends, your health, your children. If everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. Pebbles is the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - it's just little things in life. If you pour the sand into the jar at first, there is no place for the pebbles. The same means for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you never find a place for things that are important to you. Pay attention to things that are critical to your happiness.
Take care, first about the rocks, it really matters. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.
Then a student raised his hand and asked the professor:
- How was important the beer?
The professor smiled.
- I'm glad you asked me about it. I did it just to prove to you that, no matter how your life is busy, there is always place for a couple of beers.

Одиночество

Одиночество - это удел сильных. Слабые же стремятся к толпе. Лишь единицы готовы признать, что они одиноки в браке, одиноки в кругу семьи, одиноки среди друзей и родственников, товарищей по работе и учёбе. Все остальные даже боятся думать о реальной картине жизни, в которой они живут, загружая все возможными делами свой день. Одиночество – это изнанка свободы.

— Свобода, — сказал полицейский в камуфляже, с резиновой дубинкой у пояса, — это всегда одиночество. Чем совершеннее свобода — тем полней одиночество.

— Что? — удивился он.

— Я это говорю к тому, что любая привязанность есть первый шаг к рабству, — охотно пояснил полицейский, оставляя свой пост возле обменного ларька и подходя ближе.

— Вряд ли, — нерешительно сказал он.

— Да-да, — ради убедительности полицейский коснулся наручников, болтающихся у него на поясе рядом с дубинкой. — Именно так. Даже если это привязанность к домашним тапочкам. Или к единственному сорту сигарет. Или к стране. Особенно к стране.

— Я не курю, — сказал он. — И у меня нет домашних тапочек.

— Значит, вы очень одиноки, — сказал полицейский. — Я вам завидую.

Люди пьют спиртное, чтобы забыть про одиночество, они одурманивают своё сознание наркотиками, чтобы выйти из реального мира, где они так одиноки. Они стремятся получить много денег, чтобы купить себе развлечения и отвлечься от мыслей об одиночестве, они стремятся к известности, чтобы заставить людей интересоваться собой, люди стремятся прославиться, чтобы быть окружёнными поклонниками, чтобы не быть одинокими, чтобы о них говорили, чтобы к ним не были безразличны...

Жизнь — как езда на велосипеде, если тебе тяжело — значит, ты на подъёме :)
